About:
The New Hyde Park Memorial Boys Varsity Volleyball Team continued their Pink October Awareness Campaignwith the 3rd Annual Dig Pink Classic, taking on the Elmont Spartans in an inspiring night dedicated to raising awareness and funds in the fight against cancer.
While the Gladiators swept the Spartans 3–0, the evening’s greatest victory came through unity, as both teams joined forces to confront a far greater opponent: cancer.
Players, coaches, families, and the Sewanhaka Central High School District community all came together to support those affected by the disease and to champion awareness through sport.
To expand their impact, the New Hyde Park Athletics Department and Varsity Club also launched the Think Pink Spirit Store Fundraiser, giving the entire community a chance to get involved. The online store offers NHP apparel. including two special Cancer Awareness Game Shirts with all proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Societyand the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program.
Special Edition Shirts Include:
-
“Fight Like a Gladiator” – proudly worn throughout October and especially at the Pink October Cancer Awareness Varsity Football Game on Saturday, October 11 at 2 PM (Senior Day!)
-
“Gladiators Dig Pink” – the official shirt of the Dig Pink Boys’ Varsity Volleyball Game on Friday, October 10 at 6:45 PM
Through the Dig Pink Classic and the Think Pink campaign, New Hyde Park Athletics continues to prove that sports can be a powerful platform for change, one that builds community, spreads awareness, and uplifts those who need it most. When Gladiators play with purpose and lead with heart, everyone wins.
