Members of the Malverne High School Suicide Prevention Committee participated in the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk at Jones Beach on Oct. 26. The annual event, organized by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, brings communities together to raise awareness about suicide prevention, support those affected by suicide and promote mental health education and advocacy.
Malverne students, staff and families walked side by side along the Jones Beach boardwalk to show solidarity, compassion and hope for a brighter future. Their participation reflects the district’s ongoing commitment to supporting the social-emotional well-being of all students and fostering a caring, connected school community.
Through their involvement, the Suicide Prevention Committee continues to spread an important message – that every life matters and that together, we can help prevent suicide.
