Female student-athletes from Adelphi University recently helped inspire the next generation of athletes by hosting a special activity day in celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
Members of the university’s track and field and cross country programs welcomed more than 60 young athletes to campus for a fun and engaging day focused on sports, teamwork, and empowerment. Throughout the event, Adelphi’s student-athletes helped lead activities, offering encouragement and mentorship to the young participants while sharing their passion for athletics.
The activity day gave younger athletes the opportunity to connect with collegiate athletes, learn new skills, and experience the excitement of sports in a supportive environment.
Building on the success of the event, the program is continuing its outreach efforts by planning to host a “mini-meet” on campus, providing even more opportunities for young athletes to participate and experience track and field competition.
Initiatives like this highlight how student-athletes from Adelphi University are using their platform to give back, inspire youth, and help grow the next generation of girls in sports.
