About:
Students from John F. Kennedy High School recently spent an evening giving back to families in need by preparing and serving dinner at the Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro.
Members of the school’s Student Government worked together to cook a homemade meal for residents staying at the house, which provides housing and support services for families whose children are receiving medical treatment at Cohen Children’s Medical Center.
The students prepared a comforting dinner that included baked ziti, meatballs, broccoli, and dessert. The meal provided an opportunity for families facing challenging circumstances to enjoy a warm dinner while focusing on their loved ones’ care.
The service project was made possible by the efforts of the student volunteers and those who donated ingredients for the meal. Faculty members Mrs. Cirillo, Mr. Lella, and Mrs. Negron also joined the students in supporting the initiative.
By volunteering their time and resources, the students from John F. Kennedy High School demonstrated compassion and leadership while making a meaningful difference for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Initiatives like this highlight how student-led service can provide comfort and support to communities facing difficult times
