About:
The Port Washington Girls Varsity Basketball team recently demonstrated the powerful impact student-athletes can have beyond competition by dedicating a special game to Morgan’s Message, an organization focused on raising awareness around student-athlete mental health.
The meaningful initiative brought together players, coaches, and supporters to recognize the importance of prioritizing mental wellness and supporting one another both on and off the court. Through their participation and leadership, the Lady Vikings helped create an environment that encouraged open conversations, understanding, and compassion.
Student-athletes embraced the opportunity to use their platform to represent something greater than the scoreboard — playing with purpose while helping reduce the stigma often associated with mental health challenges. Their efforts did not go unnoticed, as the school community showed strong support for the cause and the message it promotes.
Events like this highlight how athletics can serve as a catalyst for awareness, connection, and positive change. By standing together for Morgan’s Message, Port Washington Girls Basketball continues to lead by example, inspiring peers and younger athletes to prioritize well-being, teamwork, and community impact.
