Southampton High School’s art and family and consumer science students recently teamed up to host a second annual “Empty Bowls” fundraiser to provide food to local families in need through Heart of the Hamptons. They raised over $200.
As part of the arts-based fundraiser, art students created and sold ceramic bowls, while family and consumer science students served up refreshments that they had made.
To make the one-of-a-kind, handcrafted bowls for the event, art students volunteered their time to throw the bowls on a pottery wheel and fire and glaze them.
Also featured at the event was the high school’s spring arts festival.
