Students at Garden City High School are turning small acts of fun into meaningful impact through a creative fundraiser supporting Best Buddies International.
As part of their “Candy Crush 4 A Cause” initiative, students invited their peers to participate in a sweet and simple challenge—guessing the number of candies in jars for a small donation. With entry options of $1 for one guess, $2 for three guesses, or $5 for eight guesses, the fundraiser made it easy for everyone to get involved while supporting an important cause.
Hosted by the school’s Best Buddies chapter, the event brought students together in a fun, inclusive environment while raising awareness and funds to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Beyond the candy jars and guesses, the initiative reflects the heart of Best Buddies’ mission—building friendships, promoting inclusion, and creating opportunities for all students to feel connected and valued.
Through efforts like this, Garden City students continue to show how creativity, compassion, and leadership can come together to make a difference—proving that even the smallest contributions can have a meaningful impact.
