The Rocky Point Lacrosse community will once again come together to honor the life and legacy of beloved coach and educator Michael Bowler during the program’s 6th Annual Mike Bowler Day Celebration on May 9th.
The special event will feature a full day of lacrosse games, youth scrimmages, community activities, and fundraising efforts, all designed to celebrate Coach Bowler’s lasting impact on Rocky Point athletics and the lives of countless student-athletes.
Throughout the day, Rocky Point’s boys, girls, youth, and middle school lacrosse teams will participate in a jamboree-style schedule of games and scrimmages, creating an atmosphere centered around community, teamwork, and remembrance. The varsity boys game against John Glenn Boys Lacrosse will serve as one of the featured events of the celebration.
In addition to the games, the event will include concession stands, raffles, apparel sales, and community gatherings that continue to strengthen the connection between Rocky Point athletics and the surrounding community. The evening will conclude with a memorial fundraiser at J&R’s Steakhouse in Rocky Point, where supporters will gather to continue honoring Coach Bowler’s legacy.
Proceeds from the day will support the Rocky Point Lacrosse Booster Club and help fund the Sean & Michael Bowler Scholarship Fund, continuing the program’s commitment to giving back and supporting future student-athletes.
Mike Bowler Day has become much more than a lacrosse event. It serves as a powerful reminder of the lasting influence coaches and educators can have on their communities and highlights the way athletics can bring generations of players, families, and supporters together in support of a meaningful cause.
Through competition, community service, and remembrance, Rocky Point Lacrosse continues to demonstrate the important role high school athletics can play in honoring legacies, supporting students, and building lasting community connections.
