Kasson-Mantorville Football is continuing a special tradition that connects varsity student-athletes with the younger members of the KoMet community.
On a recent home game day, a group of varsity football players spent the morning at both Kasson-Mantorville Elementary School and Middle School, lining the entryways to greet students as they arrived with smiles, encouragement and plenty of high-fives.
This marks the second year that the football program has welcomed elementary students on home game days. This year, the varsity players themselves asked to expand the tradition to include the middle school, giving even more younger students an opportunity to connect with the athletes they look up to.
The initiative is a great example of student-athletes recognizing the influence they can have beyond the football field. By simply showing up, connecting with younger students and starting their day on a positive note, the players are serving as role models and strengthening the sense of community throughout Kasson-Mantorville Schools.
It’s wonderful to see these young men embrace the opportunity to inspire the next generation of KoMets and demonstrate what the #KoMetFAMILY is all about.
