About:
The Horace Greeley High School Girls Volleyball program joined forces with Ossining High School on October 19 for a special Dig Pink Game, combining athletic competition with an opportunity to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Quakers celebrated a straight-sets victory, but the evening was about more than the final score as both programs came together to highlight an important cause.
Two Teams, One Meaningful Cause
Although Horace Greeley and Ossining faced each other as opponents on the volleyball court, the programs shared a common purpose in supporting breast cancer awareness.
The Dig Pink event provided an opportunity for student-athletes, coaches, families, and supporters to recognize individuals and families affected by breast cancer while demonstrating the importance of compassion, teamwork, and community involvement.
By participating in the awareness game together, the two programs showed how high school athletics can bring different school communities together for a shared cause.
Quakers Celebrate a Straight-Sets Victory
Horace Greeley delivered an impressive performance, earning a straight-sets win over Ossining.
The victory added to the excitement of an evening dedicated to breast cancer awareness and reflected the team’s determination, preparation, and teamwork.
While the Quakers celebrated their success on the court, the Dig Pink initiative reinforced the importance of using athletics as a platform for something greater than competition.
Making an Impact Beyond the Court
Breast Cancer Awareness events like Dig Pink demonstrate how student-athletes can use their influence to bring attention to important causes and encourage community support.
Through their participation, Horace Greeley and Ossining Volleyball helped promote breast cancer awareness while highlighting the positive role sports can play in connecting communities.
