The Minnesota State High School League, in partnership with Team Up 4 Community and the Student Advisory and Leadership Team (SALT), honored the Crookston High School Leo Club with a 2025-26 Community Service Challenge Award for its extraordinary commitment to serving the community.
The award was presented during a special ceremony held at Crookston High School on Wednesday. According to Leo Club advisor Linda Morgan, this marks the first year the Minnesota State High School League has presented this honor, making the Crookston Leo Club the inaugural recipient of the award.
The recognition reflects an incredible year of service from the student-led organization. The Leo Club, which includes 93 student members, submitted more than 18,800 hours of community service throughout the school year, demonstrating a remarkable dedication to leadership, volunteerism, and giving back.
Approximately 40 Leo Club members attended the ceremony to accept the award. As part of the recognition, the club received a commemorative banner and plaque that will be proudly displayed in the Crookston High School commons.
The achievement further highlights the powerful impact student leadership and community engagement can have both within schools and across local communities. The Crookston Leo Club continues to set an inspiring example of service, compassion, and teamwork for students across Minnesota.
