About:
Pristine Cyril and Maggie McLeod launched a collection drive to benefit Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, an organization dedicated to creating a healthy and sustainable future for people facing homelessness.
They collected new, white, adult-sized socks to be distributed to the patients at BHCHP. The drive began on November 7, and ran through November 18, with collection bins at LSRHS and at Curtis Middle School.
They hope to make an impact in a population facing immense hardship, especially with the coming winter, and appreciate the support of their community with this project.
They were also thinking of extending their efforts to a local church and possibly a store later in the month. Over the summer Pristine Cyril had volunteered with BHCHP and got a tour of the facilities where she met Dan Maloney. They really felt that this was a great cause to invest in, and have been coordinating with him since about pursuing this project!
They have now concluded their sock drive, and collected 391 pairs of socks for Boston Healthcare for the Homeless!
“We are super happy about the results and hope we made an impact to people in need.
We are very grateful for the involvement of our school community – we received many donations both from the LS community and from the Curtis Middle School community!” — Pristine Cyril
