Two proactive students leading the F.A.S.T (Female Athletes Stand Together) Club at BHHS sparked an inspiring initiative. Seeking to boost female sport participation, they approached their athletic office with a brilliant idea: hosting an event aimed at promoting female sports engagement. Last Saturday, students from grades 3 to 8 across the district were invited to experience three different female varsity sports.
Following the exhilarating games, the young athletes delved into clinics led by dedicated varsity and JV coaches, along with volunteers from each program. Organized by the FAST girls, the clinics offered 10 diverse sport options. Each participant received a specially designed T-shirt, courtesy of the organizers, and valuable information about the event was dispersed throughout the school district.
The response was overwhelming, with a staggering 99 students from grades 3 to 8 signing up for the event. It was truly a remarkable occasion, highlighting the power of collaboration and community support in nurturing the next generation of female athletes.
