About:
As an extension of fundraising efforts that last year raised $25,000 for the Tuesday’s Children 9/11 recovery organization, the high school’s Student Organization and Key Club (which includes student athletes) planted a Field of Honor prior to the 15th anniversary of the attacks. The Field of Honor featured American flags, sponsored by students, staff and community members, that served to pay tribute to groups including the military, New York Police Department, Fire Department of New York, Port Authority, iron workers, first-responders and the victims of 9/11. The planting of flags in the Field of Honor was preceded by a ceremony that featured a schoolwide moment of silence and a rendition of the national anthem by senior Sydney Perruzza.
