About:
Our varsity coach, Jenn Pero, has started the tradition of having our senior girls (and usually a mom or two) go to the local Ronald Mcdonald house to make breakfast. Our RM house is just a few blocks from Golisano Children’s Hospital, which is apart of Strong Memorial Hospital (URMC).
This year the girls went on New Year’s Eve day. The girls came up with the menu they wanted to prepare and provided the majority of the supplies. We arrived at 7:00am and they prepared fruit salad, multiple kinds of breakfast pizzas and a variety of pancakes! We were able to go on a tour of the facility and they were able to hear what the Ronald McDonald house does for our local families with children in the hospital. Several of them had not been clear with what the house does for our community, but after hearing how they support our families with sick children, several were very moved. With the impact that it has had on our seniors over the past few years, this is a project that we will continue to do, for years to come.
