About:
Elwood-John H. Glenn High School recently took part in a Christmas shoebox project for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child by filling and wrapping 50 boxes of donated items to give to children in need around the world.
With the help of the club’s advisors Nicole Gendjoian and Nicole Correia, students gathered after school to gift wrap shoeboxes and fill them with items such as school supplies and small toys for less fortunate children. The items were donated by the school’s World Language Honor Society members, faculty members and sign language students.
Once the boxes were completed, students delivered them to a local drop off location where the boxes will be dispersed to children in need around the world.
“This is our first time doing this” said co-advisor Ms. Correia. “We really wanted to give back worldwide and hope to continue to expand this initiative year after year.”
