About:
To celebrate September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Wantagh Elementary School student council – which has student athletes participants- hosted a schoolwide Hat Day to raise money for the Jimmy Fund Clinic at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Students not only wore their funkiest hats on Sept. 30, but were encouraged to donate a dollar for a great cause. In total, the student council collected $1,049 in donations for the Massachusetts-based clinic, which treats various pediatric cancers.
