About:
Fourth graders in the Human Relations Club at Herricks’ Searingtown School spearheaded a holiday food drive to help fill the shelves at St. Aidan’s Food Pantry in Williston Park.
The students worked hard to raise awareness about the food drive by making posters, flyers and announcements. They included information they learned about food insecurity in the community and how even a small donation can make a big difference.
At the conclusion of the drive, the students were proud to have collected 15 crates of food, which they delivered personally to St. Aidan’s Food Pantry. During the field trip, the students stocked the shelves with the donated food and met with volunteers who thanked them for their efforts and shared details on how their generosity will help local families in need.
