About:

Kicks for Cancer is an event that is held annually to honor former Hauppauge High School student, Courtney Tomkin. Courtney passed away 7 years ago after suffering from Brain Cancer. During her time in Hauppauge, she was the manager of the girls varsity soccer team. She was always so dedicated and positive, that the school wanted to do something for her. The fundraiser brings the whole community together to remember Courtney and raise money for those currently suffering from cancer. Both the boys and girls varsity soccer teams play games during the event, and all members of both teams work hard to raise money in different ways for the event. It’s so great to see so many people from the community show up in pink to support the event that our teams put together. Surrounding the field, there’s so much for people to do, like face painting, henna tattoos, bouncy houses and more. There are raffles being sold for various prizes.Kicks for Cancer apparel is sold each year, including sweatshirts. t-shirts, bracelets, blankets, lanyards and sunglasses. Each year the event continues to grow and more support is shown. This year we will be donating over $30,000 to various cancer organizations.Other schools have decided to join our cause, and run their own Kicks For Cancer game. They raised an additional $30,000.
