About:
Mrs. Betz’s third grade class at Nassakeag Elementary School have been working on a service-learning project to benefit Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. The students crocheted hats and blankets to be donated to babies staying at the hospital. The idea was brought on by one of the third grade students who wanted to give back after a stay at the hospital herself.
Mrs. Betz taught the class how to crochet. Students ended up making more than 100 hats and several blankets to be donated.
