OHS students and volunteers from Oceanside Community Service loaded up vehicles and delivered approximately 10,000 pounds of food to help struggling families celebrate a festive Thanksgiving. Fox News and FIOS1 News came out to document the event. The donations for this annual effort, traditionally known as the Turkey Shoot, came from families and staff at every school in the district.

The Girls Varsity and JV Volleyball teams hosted a scrimmage against the Valley Stream Central Varsity/JV earlier this month as a fundraising event for breast cancer research. The girls brought in $400 in donations for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program. The teams, along with their coaches, JV Coach Rob Kiley and Varsity Coach Amy Muchnick, also donated food, beverages and decorations for the event.
