This past September, Logan Augustyniak of Tewksbury Memorial High School had the opportunity to give back to two baseball programs that hold a special place in his heart: Bambino Baseball and Beep Ball. Both experiences highlight how student-athletes can make a meaningful impact in their communities while celebrating their love of the game.
Bambino Baseball: Fun, Friendship, and Inclusion
Logan has been volunteering with Bambino Baseball, a Tewksbury Youth Baseball program, since he was 10 years old. Now 15, he continues to spend his Sundays at Poulin Field, helping special needs children enjoy the outdoors, make friends, and have fun while learning the basics of baseball. The program also teaches important social skills, teamwork, and cooperation.
Logan is often joined by longtime friends Justin Plamondon and his younger brother Brody Augustyniak. He credits his passion for giving back to his Nana, Julie Augustyniak, who has partnered with Best Buddies for years and made its participants feel like extended family.

Beep Ball: A Lesson in Dedication and Inspiration
Logan’s involvement with Beep Ball—a baseball league for visually impaired athletes—was made possible through his high school baseball coach, Matt Feld, who encourages the team to participate in community service opportunities. Events like youth baseball clinics, road race volunteering, and Beep Ball games help student-athletes connect with their community and support adaptive sports.
Watching a Beep Ball game in person is an inspiring experience. Logan was in awe of the athletes’ passion and dedication, calling it a truly unforgettable experience.

Through his volunteer work, Logan demonstrates how student-athletes can use their skills, energy, and love of sports to make a positive impact. His dedication serves as a reminder that giving back can be just as rewarding as playing the game itself.
