About:
Oyster Bay-East Norwich students from Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School continued their annual tradition of giving back ahead of Valentine’s Day. Led by art teacher Meredith Brustman, each student from pre-k to second grade created their own Valentine’s Day card in art class to help spread the love this holiday season to a local veteran.
The cards were submitted to the Town of Oyster Bay’s Valentines for Veterans Initiative and Nassau County’s Valentines for Veterans Program to distribute to veterans at American Legion and Veteran of Foreign War Posts, as well as other Posts, hospitals and nursing homes. The students hope that their cards put a smile on the faces of those who have bravely served our country.
