Pines Elementary students in the Future Corps Club have spent five weeks visiting the residents of the Arbors Assisted Living community, giving students a rewarding and fulfilling experience in giving back to their community.
Each week, the Pines students couldn’t wait to return to read, craft, play instruments, perform magic tricks and play games with their senior friends. Pines’ head custodian Tom Burke’s mother, Cecilia Burke, is a resident of the Arbors. During the students’ last visit, she animatedly read, “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” to the students.
