About:
On Friday May 3 the Riverhead girls lacrosse team played in its annual Stick it to Cancer game against Bay Shore.
The Blue Waves were celebrating the resilience of those who have triumph over cancer, more specifically, their current teammate, senior attacker number 14 Sherlynn Canel.
Sherlynn was diagnosed with RMS her sophomore high school, and as of July of last year was officially cancer free.
She has been in remission for almost a year and has been cleared to come back to school and playing sports.
The coaching staff is so proud to have Sherlynn on our team, she shows dedication and positivity continues to remain resilient, despite what she has been through.
The Blue Waves defeated Bay Shore 10-6.
