About:
Builders Club members, which include student athletes, showed up on Veterans Day at 9:15 am to March with American Legion Post #94 despite the rain.
Special thanks to Ms. Huether who ran a fabulous collection, allowing us to send over 40 packages to United States Marine Corps in 2 locations overseas. Three EIMS families covered shipping costs: Gibbons Family, Piacenti Family and Gremaut family. This gave our regular shipping volunteers a break from their trips to the Post Office.
We are very low on supplies to ship, so as you shop for your families holiday celebrations please consider purchasing an item to send to the troops ( or volunteer to ship a box or 2!)
Below is the latest email from Sgt. Valencia:
Hey Rena!
East Islip packages got here just in time! We got back to our place today and started to cook, me and some buddies of mine did a mail run and saw your packages. Opened them up before the food was done and everyone got a chance to eat some of the banana bread that Mia had made! Along with the other goodies that were in there as well (cookies, pretzels, beef jerky, canned fruit, nuts and drink mixes).
Greatest breakfast we’ve had in a while so thanks! I’ll try to connect with Brandon today see if he’s received any of the boxes as well. Hope November isn’t too cold for you guys in NY yet! How snowy does it get? Used to live in RI and boy did we have some crazy blizzards!
