About:

Nesaquake Middle School in the Smithtown Central School District, students brought in pennies to fill the jars displayed in the school. The project started several years ago and the collection was up to 84,559 pennies before the start of the school year. This year, Nesaquake Middle School students collected 19,908 pennies, and that sent the number of pennies above the 100,000 mark. With the pennies, Nesaquake Middle School recently made a $1,044.67 donation to the Make a Wish Foundation.
