About:
On Saturday September 24th members of the Marine Science Club, which includes student athletes, participated in the Town of Oyster Bay Fall Beach Cleanup. Our students scoured a large section of Center Island beach, along both the Long Island Sound and the harbor. A myriad of items were collected and catalogued for the “Friends of the Bay” annual survey.
Participants learned about Long Island geography and had a hands on experience collecting samples of local marine life which will be displayed the Club’s fish tank.
The volunteers were treated to a BBQ and an opportunity to try their hand at fishing. All members left with a greater appreciation of beautiful Oyster Bay, a unique and special place so close to home
