About:
Westford Academy lacrosse captains raise money, awareness for mental health
On June 3, 2021 Westford Academy Boys Varsity and Junior Varsity Lacrosse players took an average day on the field and turned it into a way to help those living with mental illness by dedicating their game to mental health awareness in an effort to break the stigma regarding mental health.
They also raised $700 for St. Vincent de Paul. St. Vincent de Paul provides financial support for low-income families and assistance in locating psychiatric services for anyone that needs it.
The Westford Academy lacrosse players provided t-shirts to players for all of the players on the field and invited the Concord Carlisle players to stand with them in unity and the end of the game and both teams stood together as one to show support for each other especially after such a challenging year due to COVID-19.
