The Manhasset Field Hockey program recently hosted its annual Morgan’s Message Game, an event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of athletes’ mental health. Each year, the program uses this game as a way to emphasize that wellness extends far beyond the field, while encouraging players and the community to break the stigma surrounding mental health.
This year’s event was organized with the help of team captains Annie Accurso, Kylie Russo, Casey Mack, and Eden Randall, who worked hard to ensure the evening carried both meaning and impact.
In addition to supporting Morgan’s Message, the team chose to honor the memory of Tyler Godfrey, the older brother of Manhasset alumna Grace Godfrey (Class of 2024) and current eighth-grade field hockey player Piper Godfrey. Tyler tragically passed away last year, and his memory continues to hold a special place in the hearts of the Manhasset community. The Godfrey family expressed how deeply moved they were that the program continues to make sure Tyler’s light lives on.
Prior to the game, the captains led a touching pregame ceremony, delivering a message to the crowd: “It’s okay not to be okay. Please reach out if you need help, and always remember—you are not alone.”
For Manhasset Field Hockey, the Morgan’s Message Game stands as a reminder that while competition fuels the sport, compassion and community are what truly make the program strong.
