Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School students continue to embrace kindness and compassion both inside and outside the classroom. Third grader Owen Bouton and fourth grader Leigha Blandi recently launched a fundraising project in which they sold bottled water and other drinks to their neighbors and friends to collect money to donate to a good cause. Their efforts raised $75, and they set out to find how they could help families for the holidays. They were directed to JAE school counselor Jean Costa who suggested the school’s “Angel Tree,” an avenue to help families locally. “Their kindness and generous donation made a family’s holiday extra special,” Costa said. “We are so proud of them for thinking of others in need and wanting to help in some way.”
