2038 Hours

July 8, 2016 By Team Up 4 Community

31 projects. 130 Panthers. 2038 total hours.

The Lake City High School Athletic Department capped off the 2015-16 school year with a community cleanup walk from Main Street Elementary to the Lake City High School campus. 66 students, 11 coaches, and 1 LCHS administrator gave up their Memorial Day weekend Saturday morning to take part in showing some hometown pride. The event also gave the athletic department 2038 cumulative hours of community service for the year.

“I always tell people that we have incredible kids at Lake City High School,” said Lake City High School Athletic Director Matt Apicella. “These kids only need direction and the opportunity to do great things and this school year proved just how much they love this community. I am beyond proud of them.”

The participants celebrated their achievement with a lunch of grilled leg quarters, chicken perlo, and green beans provided by the LCHS Athletic Department.

Special thanks to the Lake City Fire Department for supplying the bags and equipment today. Also, thanks to Mr. Martin Cooper and Coach Kevin Graham for handling all of the grill work.
