he Chelmsford High School Field Hockey team is making a difference beyond the field!
In an inspiring act of teamwork and compassion, the athletes came together to collect 500 non-perishable food items for the Chelmsford Food Pantry. Their collective effort will help support local families in need and demonstrates the incredible impact that student-athletes can have when they work together for a meaningful cause.
Originally, each of Chelmsford’s three field hockey teams set a goal to collect 67 cans each, but the athletes surpassed expectations—donating an extra 300 cans beyond their target. The Chelmsford Food Pantry shared that this time of year is typically slow for donations, making the team’s contribution especially appreciated.
Each week, an estimated 200 families rely on the pantry’s support. Thanks to the Chelmsford Field Hockey program’s dedication, those shelves will be a little fuller—and local families will feel the warmth of their community’s care.
This initiative is a shining example of how student-athletes can channel their teamwork and leadership into meaningful service, both on and off the field.
