About:
For the second year, Westwood Youth Hockey hosted a powerful community event to Remember, Honor, and Teach the value of freedom by placing remembrance wreaths on the graves of nearly 900 local veterans. This initiative brought together youth players, high school teams, and the community to ensure that the sacrifices of these heroes are never forgotten.
The event is part of a national movement, inspired by a photo of Arlington Cemetery adorned with wreaths, that grew from a simple act of remembrance into a mission with over 3 million volunteers nationwide. By saying each veteran’s name aloud during the placement, volunteers ensure their story and service are acknowledged and that the next generation learns the importance of gratitude and responsibility for freedom.
