About:
FHS Boys Basketball dedicated a special home game against Mansfield to Coaches vs. Cancer Night, using the evening to raise awareness and support for individuals and families impacted by cancer.
The event honored the memory of Nick Gaspar, with players, coaches, and fans encouraged to wear Carolina Blue in his honor. The night served as a powerful reminder of the role athletics can play in uniting communities around meaningful causes.
Throughout the game, supporters contributed to the cause by donating to the NickStrong Foundation, which provides assistance and resources to cancer patients and their families. The atmosphere inside the gym reflected a shared sense of purpose, as the FHS community came together to show support and solidarity.
Coaches vs. Cancer Night highlighted the impact student-athletes can make when they use their platform for good. By turning game night into an opportunity for service and awareness, FHS Boys Basketball demonstrated leadership, compassion, and a commitment to supporting those affected by cancer—on and off the court.
