About:
Athletics and student leadership came together at Dedham High School as the volleyball program hosted a Mental Health Awareness Game in partnership with the school’s Active Minds Club.
The varsity matchup between Dedham and Norwood High School served as more than just a competitive contest on the court. The event helped shine a light on the importance of mental health awareness and the role schools can play in supporting student well-being.
Student leaders from the Active Minds Club worked alongside the athletics department to help organize and promote the awareness night, creating an opportunity to encourage conversations around mental health and remind students that support and resources are available.
Mental Health Awareness Games have become an impactful way for school communities to come together, using the visibility of athletic events to spread positive messages and foster a culture of care and understanding.
By hosting the event, Dedham student-athletes and student leaders demonstrated how sports can be a powerful platform for promoting important causes and supporting one another both on and off the court.
Through initiatives like this, Dedham High School continues to highlight the importance of teamwork, compassion, and community support.
