About:
The Medfield High School Field Hockey program has continued to demonstrate how student-athletes can use their platform to make a difference by hosting events focused on both mental health awareness and cancer research support throughout the season.
One of the team’s impactful initiatives was their Mental Health Awareness Game during a home matchup against Norwood. The event encouraged the community to wear green and show support for mental health awareness, reinforcing the important message that no one has to face challenges alone.
A meaningful highlight of the day was a special talk with Coach Grace’s team, who shared personal experiences and spoke openly about mental health. The program expressed gratitude for his willingness to be honest and vulnerable in helping bring awareness to this important topic. His message resonated strongly with the athletes and community, reinforcing a powerful reminder: You are never alone. Together, we can help end the stigma.
In addition to their mental health initiative, the Warriors also hosted a special Pink Game at home against Westwood on October 6. The event rallied players, families, and fans around the shared goal of supporting cancer research, with all proceeds benefiting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Pink Game created another opportunity for the Medfield community to come together in support of a meaningful cause while celebrating the positive impact athletics can have beyond competition.
Through these efforts, the Medfield Field Hockey program continues to show leadership both on and off the field. By using their season to promote awareness, compassion, and community engagement, the team is helping to strengthen connections, inspire action, and demonstrate the powerful role student-athletes can play in creating positive change.
