The Wakefield Boys Lacrosse program is proving that some games are about far more than the final score.
On Friday, May 22, the Warriors will host a powerful “Salute to Service” Night at Landrigan Field as they take on the Methuen Rangers Boys Lacrosse. The evening is dedicated to honoring veterans, active-duty military members, and Gold Star families, recognizing their service and sacrifice.
The event will begin with a special pregame ceremony at 4:40 PM, followed by a 5:00 PM game, creating a meaningful atmosphere where the community can come together in appreciation and respect.
In addition to honoring service members, the team is organizing a donation drive to directly support troops overseas. Collected items—including toiletries, snacks, and essentials—will be packed and shipped by the players, reinforcing a hands-on commitment to giving back.
This initiative highlights the leadership of Wakefield’s student-athletes, who are using their platform to unite their community, recognize heroes, and make a tangible impact beyond the field.
