About:
For the past 11 years, the Winter Coat Drive has been a cherished tradition aimed at supporting those in need. Over the past two years, the initiative has partnered with Rockland Trust Bank to raise awareness in the community, resulting in tremendous success. The drive benefits the Falmouth Service Center, a vital organization that provides food and other essentials to low-income families in the area.
This year, thanks to the generosity of the community, over 100 jackets were collected to support the Service Center’s mission. The outpouring of support and compassion from community members highlights the true spirit of giving during the winter season.
In addition to the coat drive, a special Superhero Scrimmage game was held with Barnstable to benefit Tommy’s Place, a home away from home for children battling cancer. Falmouth players wore Spider-Man jerseys, while Barnstable donned Mighty Ducks jerseys, creating a memorable and meaningful event. Together, the teams raised over $4,000 for Tommy’s Place.
The success of these initiatives is a testament to the power of community and generosity. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who contributed to making these efforts possible.
