About:
Their commitment to serving the community, without expecting anything in return, speaks volumes about their character and leadership.
The camp, which ran on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, was designed to foster team-building, confidence, and skill development among younger players. These young athletes gave approximately nine hours of their time, fully immersing themselves in the program. Their roles extended beyond simply helping; they took on leadership positions, guiding drills, coaching games, and building strong relationships with the younger participants.
Their coach described them as “amazing kids,” noting that their self-motivation and genuine desire to give back shone through in everything they did. Their passion for basketball made this experience a natural fit, as they shared their love of the game while positively impacting others.
It’s inspiring to see such dedication from two athletes so early in their high school careers. Their actions are a powerful reminder of what it means to be community leaders. These freshmen, who are also playing Varsity Field Hockey in the fall, have set a high bar for their peers, and we can’t wait to see how they continue to grow both on and off the court.
Thank you, girls, for your hard work, leadership, and for being such positive role models in our community. Your contributions make a real difference, and we are incredibly proud to have you representing Methuen High School!
