About:
The teams asked all the girls in the program to sell 5 cards for either $5 or $10 per card. The card features the foundation’s logo and a space for the buyer’s name and their high school affiliation (either Methuen or Dracut). The primary objective of this initiative is to raise awareness for the foundation, preserve Joseph’s legacy, and the added benefit is contributing funds to support the foundation.
Kate Middlemiss, who is Joe’s nephew, spoke to both groups separately for approximately an hour. She provided valuable insights into the foundation and shared information about Joseph. It was crucial for the team to ensure that the girls understood the foundation’s purpose and the individuals they were assisting with their contributions.
Furthermore, the event had a ‘Superhero’ theme, as Joe had a great fondness for superheroes. Many of the girls dressed up in capes and their favorite superhero costumes and socks. The coaches also wore superhero-themed shirts, and some members of the audience even joined in by donning superhero outfits. Overall, it was a fantastic evening.
The Joseph Middlemiss Big Heart Foundation honors Joseph’s message of “All You Need is Love” by spreading kindness, empowering children, funding cardiomyopathy research, and supporting families dealing with pediatric cardiac conditions.
