About:

This was the first session of the Skills and Drills.  It runs every Monday night from this week until 3rd week of March. (Minus Monday holidays).  It is run by Attleboro Youth Baseball and the president Mike Stevens.

Anywhere from 5-15 kids depending on the week help out.

Players are helping to teach the basics of baseball to kids ages 5-12.  Hitting, throwing, pitching, fielding etc.  AYB is great.  Kids can bring their own equipment if needed but AYB will provide loaner gloves, bats, etc. to anyone who doesn’t have them.  It is an opportunity for kids to be introduced to baseball.

It is an hour and a half every Monday night for about 10 weeks .  Some players will be there every week, some a few Mondays here or there, but there are always AHS players there.

This past Monday was the first session of the year.  We have been doing this since I was hired 5 years ago.

Many of the players on the team went to these skills and drills sessions when they were younger.  We as a group choose this activity because it allows the players to pay it forward to the younger baseball players.  The youth baseball players look up to the High School players and they are excellent role models for the kids.
