About:
AWHS Girls Ice Hockey turned the rink into a place of gratitude and purpose during its annual Hockey for Heroes game, as the Bishops faced off against the Crusaders of Bishop Fenwick High School.
The evening went far beyond competition, as players, coaches, and fans came together to honor first responders and military personnel for their service, sacrifice, and dedication. The event reflected the program’s commitment to recognizing those who protect and serve while using athletics as a platform for positive community impact.
Adding to the night’s significance, all proceeds from the game were donated to On-Site Academy, supporting mental health care and recovery for individuals facing trauma and life challenges. The partnership underscored the powerful connection between honoring service and supporting well-being.
Hockey for Heroes Night served as a meaningful reminder that high school athletics can inspire unity, gratitude, and generosity—bringing communities together for causes greater than the game.
