About:
The Burlington High School Girls Track & Field/XC team spent their morning giving back to the community by volunteering at the annual James Gang 5K. The team played an active role in supporting the event, taking on various tasks to ensure the race ran smoothly, including directing runners on the route and running a water station.
The James Gang organization is dedicated to promoting opportunities for inclusion for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as raising awareness for the NARS1 gene disorder. With deep connections to Burlington and Bedford, this local 5K event holds special significance for the community.
By volunteering, the Burlington athletes not only showcased their teamwork on and off the track, but also their dedication to making a positive impact. Their support allowed James’ family, who are usually busy directing race traffic, to fully participate in the event for the first time, making it a memorable and meaningful day for everyone involved.
It’s moments like these that strengthen community ties and remind us of the power of coming together for a great cause.
