About:
What began years ago as a Pink Week initiative within the Tri-Valley League has grown into something even more meaningful for the Norton Lancers—a sustained commitment to using athletics as a platform for impact.
While Pink Week remains an important tradition, the event has evolved to give individual teams the opportunity to host their own cause-driven nights or support initiatives that resonate with them. In recent seasons, Norton Athletics has proudly partnered with Coaches vs. Cancer, taking deliberate steps to move beyond awareness alone and toward tangible support through fundraising.
This season marked another milestone. With strong leadership from the booster club, multiple donation options were offered, making it easy for fans and families to participate. The night also brought local youth players into the gym, strengthening the connection between Norton’s varsity athletes and the next generation of Lancers.
The result was a resounding success—more than $550 raised in a single night—and, just as importantly, an event that reflected true community spirit. Student-athletes, families, administrators, youth players, and community members all came together around a shared purpose, proving once again that when a community rallies behind a cause, the impact reaches far beyond the final score.
Norton’s continued evolution of Pink Week and Coaches vs. Cancer events is a powerful example of how traditions can grow, deepen, and make a real difference—season after season.
