About:
Student-athletes volunteered in 20 degree weather on a Sunday morning at covid testing.
There were a total of 7 events run by Dave Adams’s branch of AFC Urgent Care, who donated supplies, staff, and time to the DS Community. During each of these events there were at least two Student-Athletes serving their school.
The student-athletes who helped make these events possible include:
Feliz Oliva (Golf, Indoor Track, Baseball), Charlie Perry (Golf, Lacrosse), Maiya Wahl (Soccer) Margaret Bowles (XC, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track), Lucy Randa (Softball), and Leo Olmstead (Indoor Track, Outdoor Track). I play Football and throw the discus in Outdoor Track.
Every Student-Athlete volunteered for a minimum 3 hours and up to 16 hours (Feliz). The tasks they had include (but aren’t limited too), Signing people in, handing out swabs, answering complicated health questions, directing traffic, and being as kind as possible to anyone who comes through.
Funnily enough, We also named two kids as captains of the operation: Margaret Bowles and Felix “Feliz” Oliva.
