About:
The East Meadow School District’s W.T. Clarke Middle School hosted a dunk tank fundraiser on April 12 as part of an ongoing effort to support the end-of-year “Change for Change” assembly.
Students purchased tickets for a chance to hit the target and sink a volunteer teacher. The dunking took place during three class periods as each grade competed for the most dunks. Teachers sat on the ledge of the tank waiting to be dropped into the water below as students lined up to throw balls at the target.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward the total amount collected for the Change for Change program. Donations will be distributed among local charitable organizations at the “Change for Change” ceremony, scheduled for May 31. To date, more than $2,000 has been garnered through various events. The annual giving event, now in its 14th year, is hosted by the service learning club under the guidance of advisers Katie Pienkos and Ashley Sanalitro.
