This is a tradition that started a number of years ago when a captain said the fire department needed people to help clear hydrants around town in case of fires. So we jumped on the opportunity and with police escort cleared hydrants on the main road running through town. This became difficult to do as a whole team so we have now spread our wealth and each wrestler picks at least one hydrant near their house to clear. Its are a very small act but we know that this can help save lives and give back to the community. Plus the kids get a nice workout in. I even have old coaches sending me photos of their cleared hydrants.
