Eats Bridgewater Softball dedicating their season to Mikayla Kingman

Due to a shortened season and COVID restrictions, we decided to delay putting together an alumni game/mental health awareness game in Mikayla’s honor. Some of her family is in Florida, so we will be holding off on a gathering this school year. My hope is to have an event to unite softball alumni, community and her family.

Many athletes in our program purchased t-shirts to raise funds for a memorial, which will be installed under our scoreboard this fall. While the girls in the softball program did not know Mikayla personally, it shows how the Viking Softball family is tighter than ever. The alumni and community have been so supportive of this cause, that we successfully funded the Memorial project. The School Committee has approved of this project and it will take place this fall. Monies that remain from this will be put towards a future scholarship (once discussed with her family). Her family was unable to have a gathering due to COVID, thus I have a lot in the works to remember her this fall!
