About:
The Franklin High School girls basketball community turned game night into an opportunity to give back by hosting a Soup Donation Drive in support of Franklin Food Pantry.
During the February 2 game, fans were encouraged to bring soup donations to help the Franklin Food Pantry as it competed in the community-wide SOUPER Bowl Challenge against the Weymouth Food Pantry. The friendly competition added excitement and purpose, motivating the community to rally behind a local cause while building momentum ahead of the NFL Super Bowl.
Led by the FHS Girls Basketball Boosters, the drive demonstrated how school athletics can serve as a powerful platform for service. By combining school spirit with generosity, the event helped support families facing food insecurity and reinforced the importance of teamwork beyond the court.
Initiatives like this highlight the impact of collective action—showing that when a school community comes together, even a simple donation can help make a meaningful difference.
